QUESTIONS ANSWERS
Can I use diesel fuel, kerosene or gasoline in my sprayer? For your own safety, no flammable products are recommended to be used in our sprayers.
Can I spray paint or stain products? You should verify with the product’s manufacturer’s label what the recommended application is (brush, roller, hand sprayer or airless sprayer). Chapin sprayers operate with a 35-45 psi, therefore, products which are much thicker than water or viscous are not recommended.
What is my warranty? The limited warranty (against manufacturer’s defects) is stated on the sprayer carton.
How do I release pressure from my sprayer?
  1. If your sprayer is equipped with a pressure relief valve, do the following:
    1. Pull relief valve cap up with fingers to release air.
    2. Making sure pump handle is locked in position, slowly and carefully unscrew the pump top by turning counter-clockwise, while pointing the top of the sprayer away from you.

  2. If your sprayer is not equipped with a pressure relief valve, do the following:
    1. Turn tank upside down. Direct the nozzle away from you and squeeze open the shut-off lever. This will allow the spray solution in the discharge assembly and the remaining pressure in the tank to be completely exhausted.
    2. Turn sprayer upright. Making sure handle is in locked position, slowly and carefully unscrew the pump top by turning counterclockwise, while pointing the top of the sprayer away from you.
Why won’t my sprayer pressurize? We recommend the following:
  1. Check to be sure your barrel gasket and bottom valve are in place, free of debris, and are not dry, worn, severely swollen or cracked.
  2. After completing #1, again try to pressurize, checking for leaks at hose and fittings.
  3. Refer to your owner’s manual for routine maintenance or replacement parts.
My sprayer pressurizes, but why won’t liquid spray out? We recommend the following:
  1. Make sure the outlet tube is in place inside the tank (Mostly air will be expelled if you’re having an outlet tube problem.
  2. Remove the nozzle from extension wand and check for debris.
  3. Remove the extension wand from the shut-off, and depress the shut-off (pointing away from you) to test the flow.
  4. If product still does not spray, depressurize the sprayer (see #4 above for instructions on how to depressurize) and refer to your owner’s manual for disassembling a poly (plastic) shut-off, or call our consumer hotline at 800-950-4458.
How do I clean my sprayer after use? We recommend the following:
  1. Always depressurize (see #4 above for instructions on how to depressurize) your sprayer before cleaning.
  2. Dispose of leftover chemical safely and properly.
  3. Each manufacturer has guidelines for cleaning of their product (i.e.; soap and water, mineral spirits, etc). Clean, per their instructions.
  4. Refer to your owners manual for further cleaning and storage instructions.
How do I obtain replacement parts for my sprayer? You may purchase replacement parts directly through Chapin’s consumer hotline at 1-800-950-4458.
